Y5 football team finish 3rd from 36 teams in Wigan. Stadium competition

Wigan school children got a rare chance to emulate their idols a few weeks ago by playing. A tournament on the pitch in the stadium. Our Nicol Mere children were fantastic, beaten eventually in the semi finals vs St Wilfred’s Ashton. They went on to win the 3rd /4th play off.

The children loved the games and two boys (Kian MC & Lucas W) were interviewed. In the wigan changing rooms which went out on social media.  The boys spoke very well and were a credit to the school.

Enjoy the video (it’s a cracker) and leave us a message below.

Go Noodle website a hit with children at Nicol Mere

Gymnastics after school club y12

Nicol Mere children (and staff ) using a fantastic website to get children active called

This was as a warm up before gymnastics. The children can choose excercises and dances for themselves and have an avatar to get fit. Every time the children do something the avatar gets bigger/stronger/faster.

It’s a great way to have your children get away from sitting on their pads and computers as you can access it from phones, pads, computers and even smart TVs !

I would really recommend it to everyone.

Have a look and let me know if you go on the website and excercises !

Dodgeball competition – Nicol Mere finish 4th in Wigan

In a tight competition where 1st and 4th place were separated by just two points. Nicol Mere just missed out on the prizes.  The children represented the school well and showed good honesty, respect and teamwork throughout.

We attended the Wigan finals after qualifying from the Ashton cluster phase.

I had made a wonderful video showing all the highlights but unfortunately it has been lost after uploading it to school tube and deleting the file. Only to find out that the there was an error in upload. 🙁
Well done to all our children who attended the two competitions.  We are very proud of you.
