Year 3 grab silver in Wigan football Tournament 2015

Wigan schools 7 aside football competition for Year 3 saw over 40 teams attend in 2015.  Nicol Mere went with high hopes and didn’t disappoint. The team performed well in the group stages and with good results in the last 16 and quarter finals went into the semis in good spirits. Semi final was vs St Wilfred’s and was a great game. Some great goals as you can see on the video.

The final was against another Ashton school in St Oswalds. The boys went a goal ahead but couldn’t manage to hold on for the win despite good goalkeeping from Liam.

George, Lucas, Rohan, Keane, Daniel, Liam, Logan, Mathew and Zac did the school proud with some great football but importantly sportsmanship and determination in equal measure.

Well done boys and keep up the hard work. Watch the video and leave us a comment 😃

Wigan Cross Country 2015

Nicol Mere braved the conditions to get through the races and finish a credible 12th from 28 teams in the wigan area.

Special mention to the girls who finished 9/28 and in particular Evie Taberner who got a fantastic 15th place !

Lunch time dodgeball launches!

Dispite Dodgeball being on the PE curriculum for this half term we offered the juniors the opportunity to take part in a lunch time session….. Over 60 children wanted to join !  Having split the children into groups of twenty we have catered for all over the coming weeks.

This backs up my recent claim that Dodgeball is THE best sport for junior schools at this time.

Well done year 3,4 and keeeeep Dodging !
