Large ball skills for y2 in a ‘wall game’ format

Our year 2s enjoying the ‘1 bounce’ game.

Teaching tennis, badminton, volley ball at such an early age can be difficult so breaking down some core skills & tactics needed along with words they will hear such as “court” in this form is great for this age group as you can see from there faces!

Sending and receiving skills, ready position, hand/eye coordination, disguise, technique all on show here.

Well done year 2 !

Sainsbury’s Manchester school games – Dodgeball team finish 3rd after narrow semi final loss

our wigan champions stepped up a level into the greater Manchester all champions tournament this week and wow ! What an experience. Some tough competition and a gruelling schedule saw our brave lads grab a 3rd place finish!  32 games of dodgeball saw the boys get into the semi finals.  A narrow loss with such fine margins in the games.  Nicol mere are very proud of the team and with such enthusiasm for the sport in each year group I think we will be here again soon.

A great opening ceremony, singing and dancing (from our team aswell 😉 ).  We also got the opportunity to be photographed with the World Cup and the current England team!! All in all a fantastic experience for these lucky lads.

Girls football win tournament !

A vey VERY wet and windy St Edmunds Arrowsmith event saw a courageous girls football team come together and grab top spot tonight !

Lead by captain Eve Curran, the girls won 4 out of 5 games but finished top of the league with 12 points only conceding a single goal.  I’m sure you’ll agree that Eve, Alex, Abi, Jodie, Laila, Maddison, Evie, Cara and not forgetting our youngest member of the team goalkeeper Carly deserve HUGE praise for their teamwork and commitment. Well done ! You make us all very proud to be Team Nicol (soggy) Mere!

N.b my usual montage was not possible due to being absolutely drenched !
